decommissioned because the openair swimming pool at "Nordbad" is
sufficient for the city's needs. In its place,
a four-seasons stainless steel pool, which
is heated to 29 degrees in the winter, was
installed outside the "Welle". Overall,
the new "Welle" offers a water area of
1,450 square metres.

Two slides, three tubes
Up to now, a tube slide opened ten
years ago has provided guests to
"Welle" with sliding fun. In the course
of the renovation works, this slide
together with its tower was dismantled.
Instead of this old installation, a new
tower with two slides was erected, both
of which are around 100 meters long
and were supplied by Aquarena.
Ideal racing fun is offered by the twolane "Body 2Racer" type waterslide.
The attraction starts with two separate
tubes, which are reunited after some
meters to run as a common slide with

two lanes. Effects include
daylight effects as well as
sections featuring a checkered
flag design. A time counting
system, which registers both
lanes separately, stimulates
the competition. In addition,
at the entry of the slide, a
traffic light countdown can
be triggered at the touch of a

For the second slide, the operator
decdided to install a family-friendly
"AquaRacer" slide, i.e. a tube
slide with varying cross sections.
Impressing, translucent motifs in an
underwater design, illuminated by
daylight, already decorate the entry
section of the slide. In the further
course, the slide tunnel is illuminated
by running lights and light stripes in
different shapes. In contrast to the
former slide, the two new attractions
do not end in the outdoor pool but

Since the renovation of the Welle,
the leisure pool complex impresses
visitors with a modern yet cosy flair,
without fully giving up the building's
classic structure from the 90s. The
tent-like wooden roof structure is
atmospherically illuminated by a
sophisticated LED-lighting concept
from Sill. The same is true for the
pools, which have been equipped with
a modern RGB lighting system from
WaterVision from Kleve, Germany. The
two new waterslides will increase the
facility's attractiveness and ensure its
competitiveness in the region.
